Transaction Notes

Teams may acquire players through three means: the draft, free agency, and trades. The draft is the selection of players before the start of the season. Free agency is the acquisition of a player who is not on another team's roster. The fee for a free agent pickup is $5. Trades are the exchange of players and/or draft picks between two or more teams. For the purpose of fee considerations, draft picks are considered players. The cost of a trade is $1 per player traded away.

Each team has a Taxi Squad. This is an optional one player slot that teams may use to reserve an additional player. The Taxi Squad player is not considered an active player. He is not eligible to play in a game and his stats are not considered, for example, when scoring a tie-breaker. The cost of moving a player from your roster onto the Taxi Squad (deactivating) or from the Taxi Squad onto an open spot on your roster (activating) is $3 per move.

Transactions since the start of August 28, 2004 (the 2004 FAUX draft) are shown below. Transactions that appear in gray text were made within the "Grace Period" following the draft (August 28 through September 8, 2004) and are therefore exempt from transaction fees.

Transactions may be made between Tuesday morning until kick off time (usually 10 AM, Pacific) of the next NFL game. Transactions must be confirmed by the league before they are official. Confirmation may be verbal, via email, or by web post. In other words, you cannot leave a message requesting a player, assume you have him, and thus play him in a game. Should there be a conflict as a result of such assumption, your team may be subject to penalties.
