Tasmania Devils

Another of FAUX's impressive class of 1992, Tasmania struggled when it first joined FAUX as the Hoboken Hobbits. In their first season, they posted an all-time low for points in a season (219) and points per game (15.64), on their way to stumbling to the second worst mark for wins in a season (3). But unlike the NFL's New Orleans Saints, the hard lessons of that expansion season (such as Attending the draft is a good idea) were not wasted. The following season, the Devils squeaked into their first wildcard berth, with a dramatically improved 7-6-1 season. Since their first season, the franchise has gone 46-37-1 (.554), which would rank among the league's top 5 franchises, and their 56 wins since 1992 is tops for their expansion class. In 1997, on the final week of the season, they upset perennial powerhouse Petaluma and clinched the Tom Jones division title, thus fueling a postseason run that resulted in the franchise's first FAUX Bowl appearance. Tasmania went 10-4 in 1999, it's best regular-season record in team history. In 2004, Tasmania posted an impressive 10-4 regular season that included a FAUX Southern Division title and first round bye in the postseason, as the league's #2 seed. Though not among their best records, their 6-8 mark in 2006 was good enough to push the franchise over the 100-win mark. In 2007, the Devils earned a postseason playoff berth from the Lettuce Division with a 9-5 mark that earned the team a wildcard spot. Their season raised the franchise over the .500 mark, with a 112-111-1 (.502) historical record.
