FAUX's first female
champion, Deirdre Lewis (nee Connor) originally joined FAUX as a co-owner
of the 1990 Chicago Chick Conspiracy, with Maureen Corr (nee Ruane).
In 1991, when Lewis and Corr split to form their own teams, the Phoenix
Femmes Fatale were founded. Their modest, wildcard-winning 6 - 6 - 1
debut, respectable for an expansion franchise, gave no warning of the
juggernaut that had been unleashed. By 1993, the Femmes Fatale reached
the FAUX pinnacle, winning FAUX Bowl IV becoming the original Champion
Chick. The Femmes Fatale rank among the top franchises in many statistical
categories, including wins, winning percentage, points scored, and playoff
appearances. Phoenix topped the 100-win mark in 2004. Though they have
never won less than 5 games in any FAUX season, following their 5-9
season in 2006, the franchise slipped below the .500 mark (.498) for
the first time in Femmes history.
