Tenacious scrappers, the Wharfrats have finished above .500 five times since the league was founded, but they have leveraged their success with astonishing effectiveness. The Wharfrats' trophy case is bursting with two division titles, six playoff appearances, a 12-win season (1998), and--most impressive of all--a victory in FAUX Bowl III. After winning a total of 7 games in FAUX's first two seasons, the then-named Athens Axes stunned the league by converting their 9-5 regular season record into a Sub Division title and FAUX's third league title. Two years later, in 1994, they were back in the playoffs, after winning the Curly Division title with another 9-5 season; they followed up this campaign with a 7-7 mark that was enough to earn a wildcard berth. Their 8-6 mark in 2006 was a watershed season for the Wharfrats. Aside from leading all the way to an appearance in FAUX Bowl XVII, it marked the first time in franchise history that the team finished over .500 in consecutive seasons and catapaulted the franchise over the 100-win threshold. After posting their first back-to-back winning seasons (8-6 marks in 2005 and 2006), the rebuilding Wharfrats stumbled to a 5-9 mark in 2007, but the Rats have already proven themselves dangerously tenacious.
