A charter FAUX franchise,
Baltimore set a standard of excellence against which other teams are
measured. Originally founded as the Sonoma Nurse-Caregivers, the team
became the Evanston Evil Ones before the start of the 1991 season.
On October 10, 1991, after posting a 1-3 mark after a month of play,
Mayflower vans converged on Evanston team headquarters for a bold
mid-season move. The Evil Ones transformed themselves into the Baltimore
Buzzsaws, becoming a fearsome FAUX juggernaut. The remade team responded
immediately to the owner's shakeup, rallying to win FAUX's second
league championship by upsetting the favored Pittsburgh War Pigs.
The team has dominated the FAUX landscape, perhaps most impressively
during the span of the 1996-97 seasons, during which time they set
league scoring records while posting an impressive 23-5 record. In
1996, on the merit of a franchise best 12-2 season, they became FAUX's
first two-time champion, again defeating the War Pigs for the title.
They followed their second pennant, with an unprecedent consecutive
championship by defeating the Tasmania Devils in FAUX Bowl VIII. A
consistent FAUX force, in addition to their three championshipships,
the Saws boast 128 franchise wins, six division titles, and a .549
winning percentage.
In 2004, the Buzzsaws went 11-3 and won the North Bay Division title,
their sixth division championship.
